DLSA Dakshin Dinajpur Conducts Door-to-Door Legal Awareness Campaign in Harirampur Block Area
HARIRAMPUR, DAKSHIN DINAJPUR: In a continuous effort to bring grassroots justice and legal literacy, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Dakshin Dinajpur, officially organized an intensive door-to-door legal awareness and outreach campaign across various rural pockets of the Harirampur Block area.
The extensive field campaign was actively led by dedicated Para-Legal Volunteer (PLV) Md. Nur Islam, operating under the direct supervision, guidance, and mandate of the DLSA, Dakshin Dinajpur authority based at the District Court Complex, Balurghat.
The primary objective of this localized door-to-door initiative is to dismantle systemic barriers between marginalized populations and the judicial system. During the drive, PLV Md. Nur Islam visited numerous underprivileged households to educate citizens regarding their fundamental legal rights and the structural availability of free legal aid services provided under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and West Bengal State Legal Services Authority (WBSLSA).
Key Legal Literacy Footprints Highlighted During the Drive:
- Free Legal Aid and Counsel: Informing villagers, specifically women, senior citizens, and economically weaker sections (EWS), that they are legally entitled to free legal counsel, documentation support, and institutional representation.
- Government Welfare Schemes: Spreading crucial awareness about various state and central government welfare beneficiary schemes engineered for rural and backward communities in Dakshin Dinajpur district.
- Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Mechanisms: Educating the public on how to settle minor civil and family disputes amicably via Lok Adalats and structural mediation centers, bypassing expensive and long-term traditional litigation processes.
By bringing judicial awareness straight to the doorsteps of Harirampur's citizens, the DLSA Dakshin Dinajpur aims to directly empower common residents to stand resilient against socio-economic exploitation.
